churchill is usually a soft being who is easily upset and frazzled. he is currently in possession by a rich, respectful, understanding owner.  it was not always the case unfortunately.  his last owner, who luckily died from alcohol poisoning which led to him being rehomed, was extremely abusive, physically and emotionally.  [trigger warning maybe] chruchill was whipped and beaten on many occasions for simple things like not cleaning up spills quick enough.  it's also understood that he has been sexually assaulted by his previous owner as well, to the point where sharp instruments and mutilation was involved.  he used to often be left in squalor, locked in a cage or a basement for many days with very little food or water as punishment for not submitting to the sexual assault his previous owner forced upon him.  his dreams are always terrifying, so he sometimes has a hard time sleeping, leading to baggy eyes.  he has a lot of emotional problems and isn't very easy to take care of due to regular panic attacks, but his new owner is very understanding and helps him through his issues with much patience.  he has been taught very well how to be respectful and maintain his composer even in difficult situations.  even though his new owner is a wonderful man, he makes it a point not to spoil churchill because he knows it might create more of an issue.  since this is the case, churchill lives a steady and pleasant lifestyle but doesn't have too many pleasantries.  most of his time is spent reading books or watching movies [idk if movies exist in this universe really] to distract himself from troubling thoughts.  he also expresses himself through painting to let out frustrating thoughts that his words can't describe.  despite all his shortcomings, he still is easy to get along with, and if one can see past all of his scars, he is a very good and trustworthy friend.
